Who we help
Who book editing is for
You have lived with this manuscript long enough that you can no longer see it the way a first reader will. Sending it out before it is ready means it gets judged on a fixable flaw you were too close to catch.

Frequently asked questions
Will you change my voice or my style?
No — protecting your voice is the heart of what we do. We correct and sharpen, but the prose stays yours. Every change comes as a tracked change you accept or reject, so the final text reads exactly as you want it.
Is my unpublished manuscript kept confidential?
Yes. Your work is seen only by the editor working on it, and we never share, publish, or reuse it. An unpublished manuscript stays entirely yours.
Do you edit genre fiction, scripts, and poetry?
Yes. We work across literary and genre fiction, memoir, screenplays and stage plays, and poetry. Tell us what you have written and we will match you to an editor who reads in that form.
What's the difference between a critique and an edit?
A critique is an unbiased written assessment — what's working, what isn't, and what to fix — with no changes made to your text. An edit is hands-on work in the manuscript itself, correcting and sharpening line by line. Many authors take a critique first, then come back to edit.
How long does a full novel take?
It depends on the length and the depth of service. You choose your turnaround at checkout, and we return the manuscript by the date you set. For a very long book, email us first and we will confirm the schedule. In the rare event an unforeseen circumstance means we cannot meet an agreed date, we will always let you know in advance.
Do you work in tracked changes?
Yes. We work in your own document with tracked changes, so you can see every correction and accept or reject each one. Critiques are delivered as a separate written report.
